Day 1 : Arrive Chennai
After clearing the Immigrations / Customs formalities, met / transferred by our representative & transfer to the Hotel.
 
Day 2 : Chennai - Mahabalipuram
Breakfast at the Hotel. After breakfast transfer to airport to board flight to Chennai. Arrive Chennai & drive to Mahabalipuram (75 Kms/ 2 Hrs approximately).

Mahabalipuram lies on the Coromandel Coast which faces the Bay of Bengal. This is an elegant place to watch which a well established sea port was during the 7th and 10th centuries of the Pallava dynasty. This was the second capital of the Pallavas who ruled Kanchipuram. Formerly, Mahabalipuram was known and called as Mahabalipuram. The former name of this place ‘Mahabalipuram’ has a history. A very rude cruel king Mahabali reined this place and in a fierce battle king Mahabali was killed by Lord Vishnu and the place was named after the dead King. Arrive Mahabalipuram & transfer to the Hotel.
 
Day 3 : Mahabalipuram
After check in visit the temples of Mahabalipuram & Kanchipuram.
 
Day 4 : Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry

Breakfast at the Hotel. Leave for Pondicherry by surface (110 Kms/ 2 Hrs approximately) on the eastern side of Indian peninsula, Pondicherry is a seaside resort. But at the same time it differs very much from a typical beach resort. Tourist attractions in Pondicherry lie in its ambience.  Old French style buildings, churches and museums, tree-lined boulevards along the seashore would remind you of a bygone era. The Laidback Township, pristine beach and the palm trees swaying in breeze bring a slice of serenity. The only sound you can hear is the waves crashing against the rocks and the chirping of the birds. But to cap it all, the Auroville Ashram is the biggest of all tourist attractions in Pondicherry. Just because of it, the destination of Pondicherry exudes a spiritual aura. For the weary soul, this is an ideal retreat. Any evening head for the Ashram meditate, soothe the battered psyche. It consists of four former French coastal settlements whose administration was transferred to India in 1954. Arrive Pondicherry & transfer to the Hotel. Afternoon, half day sightseeing tour visiting the Aurobindo ashram etc.

 
Day 5 : Pondicherry - Tanjore - Trichy

Breakfast at the Hotel. After breakfast. Drive to Tanjore – this is visited by most of the foreigners who come to India to learn about its culture. Raja Chola during his rule built the Tanjore Brihadeeswarar temple. Otherwise called 'Big Temple' (Periya Koil) the temple was built by the King on a sprawling piece of land. The greatness of this temple is marked by the enormous Lingam - the 'Brihadeeswarar' which is the prime deity of the shrine. After visiting the temples drive to Trichy - Tiruchirappalli, situated on the banks of the river Cauvery is the fourth largest city in Tamil Nadu. Apart from the Fort, there are several Churches, Colleges and Missions dating back to the 1760s. The town and its fort, now in Trichy were built by the Nayaks of Madurai. This city has given great Tamil scholars whose contributions to the Tamil literature have been very significant (198 Kms/ 4 Hrs approximately). Arrive Trichy & transfer to the Hotel.

 
Day 6 : Trichy - Madurai
Breakfast at the Hotel. Morning, half day sightseeing tour of Trichy. Visit Trichy's Rock Fort Temple, a spectacular monument perched on a massive sand-colored rock to a height of more than 80m, its irregular sides smoothed by wind and rain. This temple was built by Pallavas as a small cave temple, but the Nayak's grasped the site's potential as a fort. The Ranganathaswamy Temple at Srirangam is among the most revered shrines to Vishnu in south India and the largest and liveliest temple complex in India. Enclosed by seven rectangular walled courtyards, the temple has 21 gopurams; it stands on an island defined by a tributary of the River Cauvery. Afternoon, leave for Madurai by surface (142 Kms/ 4 Hrs approximately) Arrive Madurai & transfer to the Hotel.
 
Day 7 : Madurai
Breakfast at the Hotel. After breakfast start for a sightseeing tour of Madurai. One of South India's great temple towns, Madurai is synonymous with the celebrated Meenakshi Temple. Situated on the banks of river Vaigai, Madurai has a rich cultural heritage passed on from the great Tamil era more than 2500 years old. Madurai was an important cultural and commercial centre even as early as 550 AD. It was the capital city for the great Pandya kings. The Pandyan King Kulasekarar built a great temple and created a lotus shaped city around the temple. On the day the city was to be named, as Lord Shiva blessed the land and its people, divine nectar (Madhu) was showered on the city from his matted locks. This city was henceforth known as Madhurapuri. Madurai is famous for Jasmine Flowers. Half day sightseeing tour of Madurai visiting the Meenakshi temple.
 
Day 8 : Madurai - Periyar

Breakfast at the Hotel. Leave for Periyar by surface (142 Kms/ 3 Hrs approximately) Arrive Periyar & transfer to Hotel. Afternoon spice plantation tour, this tour is to introduce you to the numerous varieties of spices that this country is famous for. The guide will give you a good explanation of the native spices, tea and coffee. If you are interested a visit to the local tea factory can be organized.

 
Day 9 : Periyar - Allepey
Early morning take boat ride in Periyar Lake in the morning to watch the animals including herds of elephants, bison's and Packs of wild boars that roam through the woods and Parade along the shores of the lake just before sunrise.

Arrive back to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast leave for Allepey by surface (155 Kms/ 3 Hrs approximately) ARRIVE Allepey & transfer to the jetty to board the houseboat. Arrive Allepey & board the Houseboat. Overnight at the Houseboat in Backwaters (Lunch & Dinner at the Houseboat).
 
Day 10 : Allepey - Kumarakom
Breakfast at the Houseboat. Disembark the houseboat at the resort in Kumarakom. Day at leisure to explore the backwaters.
 
Day 11 : Kumarakom - Cochin

Breakfast at the Houseboat.
Leave for Cochin by surface (65 Kms/ 1 ½ Hrs approximately) Arrive Cochin & transfer to the Hotel. Evening, enjoy Kathakali dance performance.

 
Day 12 : Cochin

Breakfast at the Hotel & proceed for a half day.
Sightseeing tour of Cochin visiting the Mattancherry Palace, the Jewish Synagogue, the St. Francis Church & the Chinese fishing nets.

 
Day 13 : Depart Cochin

Breakfast at the Hotel. After breakfast Transfer to the airport to board onward flight.
